You can take the girl out of prep school, but...

(A day late, apologies!)

Channeling my inner prep today. There was once a day where I loathed polo collars and topsiders. And then I graduated from 12th grade and embraced it.

Ralph Lauren blue label navy blue and green polo dress. Repeat shoes from yesterday (gasp!). Hair combed back in a thin olive green headband. Simple summer chic.

Miniskirt Dilemma

Today's ensemble. Grey Theory tank layer under a super comfy white Vince tee. Rag & Bone miniskirt. Colin Stuart leather sandals with flower appliqué. No jewelry. My trusty Louis Vuitton Neverfill GM.

Onto my dilemma. How old is too old to wear a miniskirt? Not a micro mini (ew, I'm not 18 thank you), but an average, form fitting miniskirt. If you have great legs, are they always appropriate? No matter what are they not to be worn after 30 (thank you What Not To Wear)? If I continue working in a creative industry, are they work appropriate? Maybe I should stick to leggings at work and keep everything simple.

Sunny Tuesday!

The sun is shining and there's finally color in my wardrobe! Turquoise crinkle dress with white floral embroidery by Ella Moss. Stacked nude strappy platform wedges from Old Navy (as seen in the April 2010 issue of People Style Watch). Layered silver Tiffany pretzel and key necklaces.

Today's bag of choice? Louis Vuitton Neverfill GM tote. If there's one bag I can't live without, this one is it. Large enough to fit everything and then some (it's tested to carry up to 400 pounds!). Moderately sized so I don't look like a bag lady. Plus, can anyone really resist a good Vuitton?

Uninspired Monday

Dreary. Rainy. Humid. Did I mention there's no suitable running water in my city? Makes for an uninspired Monday morning.

Grabbed my go-to black leggings and draped short sleeve open cardigan by Splendid. Long pearl necklace tank with bow appliqué. Black Tory Burch Reva ballet flats. Looks chic enough when I feel anything but.

May 1st, 2010 - Day

It's finally summer in New England! Temps expected to be in the 80s today and tomorrow. I am thrilled. My legs are not. Where does a twentysomething find shorts of an appropriate length? Is there a shorts mecca that I'm missing out on, or does every woman my age encounter this issue? I love showing leg, but enough is enough. I am not eighteen years old anymore.

Today's outfit. Blue and white tribal-inspires shorts (similar to these). Navy blue tank top with a zippered chest pocket. Navy and tan striped Tom's shoes. Louis Vuitton monogram Speedy 30 and classic black RayBan wayfarers.

Confession. I love seasonal, spot-on trend looks that rotate in and out of my closet faster than I in the Neimans shoe department. But I hunt for the right look at the right price. I invest and splurge where it counts. Lifelong pieces. My Louis Vuitton Speedy, my Tiffany's jewelry, my Missoni and DvF little black dresses. Pieces that wear across all seasons.

Who I Am, What This Is, (And Yes, Who I'm Wearing)

Who I am: M. A twentysomething shopaholic and fashionista by passion. I live for brands, sales, the search for the forever-perfect handbag, and big cocktail rings.

What this is: I am a co-writer for Pop Culture Paradox, but I recognize the need for a personal, fashion-only blog with the ongoing theme of what I wear and the inspiration for my daily personal style.

Who I'm wearing: No-name Friday night comfort loungewear with my comforter and DVD player. Black leggings. Junk Food tee. Dual silver necklaces with key and Tiffany pretzel charms. Manicure and pedicure in California Coral by Essie. Expect photos in future posts (but just not tonight at 11:30pm).

Happy weekend!
